Butterfly Sleeves!

Do you remember butterfly sleeves? If you are were in my Jr. High, you just were not groovy unless you had a dress or top with butterfly sleeves. Who knew that they would come back! This little top is soooo darling for Spring. I can just see it at the Easter egg hunt, or the family picnic, matched up with sweet dirndle shorts. I am going to dig out my fabulous Singer ® Confidence 7470 machine, high tail it to the store, snatch up this Simplicity Pattern #3504, and get busy.

Funky Chicken

I laughed out loud when I saw this Funky Chicken centerpiece in the latest Mary Engelbreit's Home Companion magazine. What made me giggle is when I realized that it is an upside down bowl with a kid's wooden block, and the funky chicken is cut out of a soda pop can! Yes! You flatten the can and then cut out the chicken and.....forget it, you can go to the designer's blog to get all the details. Her name is Heather Bailey and her blog is at (get this) hellomynameisheather.com
Totally so cute, it makes me want to do the chicken dance!

Are you ready?

St. Patrick's day is a week away, and I haven't even thought about what I want to do. My gal pal Melody Good put a gorgeous shamrock plant on her desk this week and I just love turning the corner and seeing it there. It makes me smile every time.

I thought about sending out some fun treats and found these delectably delicious looking fortune cookies on Amazon.com that are dipped in chocolate and then into teenie weenie shamrock sprinkles. Talk about yum!

Now, wouldn't it be cute to mimic these with beige circles of felt that you shape and glue into faux fortune cookies, then spread dimensional paint onto them like icing, then drop seed beads onto them? Okay, now I've got to make a run to the craft store....see ya!

Project Runway Rocks!

Oh my GOSH! Project Runway's finale last night was absolutely a blast. I loved it, and it was all the talk around the proverbial water cooler today. Christian's winning collection was fabulous with the seriously tight pants with exposed zippers, the chic drama, the layers of ruffles, and large buckles.

There were enough feathers on that evening dress to fly away! He was fun, crazy, stylish, young, and of course......FIERCE!

But I must admit that Jillian's collection was my personal favorite, because I could actually see myself wearing all of the dreamy knits with flirty ruffles, pleats and lame...all with a military edge.

Rami had a dreamy collection of woven and quilted bodices and brought it all together with a cerebral detail unlike anything I have ever seen. I wasn't too crazy about his selection of colors, but he designed the most stunning evening wear, with truly amazing elegance.

This season was absolutely the BEST Project Runway, ever. And, I can't wait till the NEXT one!
