Ikea Bed Adventure

With the 3-days off for Labor Day, we took a little road trip to Sacramento for Gold Rush Days and to browse IKEA for household stuff. The Gold Rush Days was way fan, as we walked on the streets covered with dirt and cowboys and horses and trains and buggies everywhere. But the real adventure happened when we bought new slats for our Scandinavian bed. Ours had become quite flat, and we needed a new mattress to make our backs happy. Sooo.... as you see here, the best part about IKEA is that it's relatively inexpensive. But, the worst part is that it's always a DIY project.

The slats had to go into plastic pockets and then a fabric spine went down the middle. Scott took over and was determined to make it a fun project. It didn't take tooo long to get the first side done.

The second side got crazy when we lost count of how many skinny slats went in before the fat slats, and then the double slats, and so it goes. Counting, poking, and silly fun.

The mattress was rolled up tight, and weighed 75 lbs. It was amazing how much mattress was in an itty bitty bag. But, the DIY slats and mattress adventure ended nicely with my happy tiger sprawled out on a brand new bed. Z-Z-Z-Z-z-z--z-z-zzzzz--zzzzz z z zzzz

Craft TV Studios

We worked like busy beavers today at Craft Studios. Here I am on the set, barefooting it and putting my little tassel Christmas tree into place. We shot 6 new Christmas videos, and they will start airing next week on the Six in the Morning show on CBS in Tulsa. I did tons of fun stuff, and as you can see on the table there, I did soaps for stocking stuffers. They have all our kids and grands pictures on them. Too cute!

There's always time for some lovins and Scott was there to oblige. We ARE newlyweds, ya know. *giggle* He's my best friend and buddy. I don't know what I would do without him directing me and making me look good. I love how he lit the set in soft lights and yet he put light in the right places to make the projects pop. We started adding it up today, and figured out that we have easily shot over 400 videos together! We met on opposite ends of the camera on a TV show about 10 years ago. So, it's just what we do! Thank goodness we love working together, and make a good team. Today was totally fun, even when I hit a speed bump with the 5th segment. I had to make my step-outs all over again to re-shoot it, but Scott never got grumpy on me. *sigh* It was a good day.

L.A. Fashion Week

Scott keeps sending me sweet pics from L.A. Fashion Week. He's the cameraman who is filming the runways explicitly for the designers, and the rest of those peeps are paparazzi and media! Every time they finish a show, he runs his tape to the editing crew and they edit it on the spot to hand over to the designers. Pretty hectic and wild!

He has seen tons of celebrities, including David Hasselhoff. Scott said that he was totally surrounded by people trying to interview him before the show started. It's crazy busy and when he calls me I can barely hear what he's saying. Especially when the music is blasting.

Check it out! Can you find Scott? Totally nuts! I can't imagine what it's like to stay concentrated on getting every shot just right. The designers will be using his video for their promos and marketing after the show is over, so he has to get the best shots. I miss him! I know he's not eating good, although he said that the Whole Foods Market is one of the sponsors, so maybe he's scarfing some tasty snacks.

I promise to send more pics tomorrow, as soon as I figure out how to send them from my phone to my blog. Scott emailed these to me, so I'm spoiled. *sigh*
