Stars & Stripes Necklace

ilovetocreate.com

Can you believe this is glue and cornstarch?
It is so easy, and a great idea for kids to make and celebrate Independence Day this year.
The part I like the most, is that I can make a big batch of this clay and
keep it in the refrigerator for those impromptu moments of creativity.
It's also fun for teachers and daycares to have on hand.
Grab some cookie cutters and let the kids play all day.

Instructions

  1. Pour 1 cup of cornstarch with ½ cup of Aleene’s® Original Tacky Glue™ into Ziploc® bag and knead until it is stiff dough.
  2. Use rolling pin to flatten dough to approximately ¼” thick. Use cookie cutters to create the star shapes. Use a toothpick to poke a hole in the top of the star for hanging. Let dry overnight.
  3. Decorate stars with paint. Let fully dry.
  4. Apply crystals as desired.
  5. Thread red and blue ribbon in and out of chain and secure at both ends.
  6. Run jump rings through holes in stars and attach to chain.
