Pompom Turkey Favor

When I think of Thanksgiving, I think of Scott and I waking up and
having a lazy breakfast before the dinner prep begins.
So, I thought a cute little pompom turkey sitting on top of upside
down coffee cups at our table would be just the
perfect favor to start the day!
Here's my crafty supplies:
yarn, Aleene's Tacky Glue, polka dot papers, and a PattieWack Pompom Tool.
 First Step:
Make a pompom
 Second Step:
Cut out 3 tail feathers and 1 circle.
Third Step:
Fan-fold the tail feathers and glue the papers into place to make your cute pompom turkey.
Happy Thanksgiving!

Painted Arachnophobia Glasses

I love these scarrrrry spider glasses. All you need is to grab your Tulip® 3D Fashion Paint™ and draw them onto a stemless wine goblet for a temporary party embellishment that just might scare someone into sipping instead of glugging down their cocktails.... arachnophobia, anyone???

I'm BACK!

Whew! It seems like I’ve been gone a year, my gosh! The After Party in Tulsa was absolutely dreamy. My huge family was there, and we got to celebrate to our heart’s content. As you can see, the rich colors at Lola’s at The Bowery were the perfect backdrop for the flowers, the favors, and my ruby red dress. I gathered the most vibrant colored roses and tied luscious green bows onto each stem. I held them together in my arms while my Daddy read a poem and a blessing over us, and then gave them to the significant women in my life, which are my Mom and my Auntie Mary Lou, and my daughters Tricia and Stacey, and then to my granddaughter Lacricia.

We had the most incredible raspberry cake you ever wrapped your lips around, and Lola blew us away with her delicious spinach dip with flat breads, fruits and cheeses and all sorts of yummy finger foods. Oh, and the coffee and chocolate favors we made for everyone were a big hit.

Scott and I danced to a few tunes and of course had to dip at the end. So cheese-waddy and fun. I had to hem my dress up about 2 inches since I’m such a shorty. I think it turned out okay.

Instead of a guest book, we had our guests sign a red lacquer tray with well wishes. I had gold, copper, and silver Krylon paint pens for painted perfection. There were some pretty creative things written on there, and even a couple of sketches. Too fun!

Our photographer, Laura Hahn, was incredible the way she documented every little thing. She took us outside for some great pics with the Tulsa skyline in the background. Scott was his usual sneaky-pants.

My Mom and Dad gave us the ultimate gift. A handmade quilt made especially for us! (If you click on the pic you will get a better look.) I have been wanting a black and white quilt for the longest, and they seized the opportunity to make it special. They run a little quilt studio, Pearl’s Quilts out of their home at Grand Lake. I can’t wait to curl up under this gorgeous quilt, and every time I do, I’ll think of them, and the love they poured into this priceless gift.

Tricia and Stacey were so pretty and we got a nice group hug. They especially liked Scott’s funky hat that belonged to his grandfather. Pretty snazzy, Scott!

Lola had the Cutest bride and groom in the window, and gave us a gift of miniature dolls just like the ones in the window. How cool is that?

I had the best day ever, with family and friends, food and fun, and Scott.

The After Party is ON!

Finally, we are headed to Oklahoma for our party to celebrate the wedding! Yipppeeeee! We sent this postcard out to all of our friends and family, so we're just crossing our fingers that another ice storm doesn't hit Tulsa and mess up our plans like it did at Christmas. It was really tough not being able to fly into Tulsa during the big blast of ice and devastation on the week we had planned to be there with our family. They even closed down the airport there, it was so bad. But now we get to party!

I put together some sweet little party favors for our special guests and shipped them out yesterday, so I hope the FedEx dude can find my parents house out in the boonies at Grand Lake in time for us to take them to Lola's.

As you can see, they are Chinese take-out boxes in pretty colors to match our invitations and postcards. I tied the chocolate and tangerine colored boxes with kiwi green and golden ribbons. It took a lot longer than I thought it would but each little bow has scalloped edges that I cut with my new shears that Gail (Scott's sis) gave me for Christmas. Too cute!

I placed 2 squares of individually wrapped Ghirardelli chocolates in each one. Yummmers! Would you believe that I got through the whole evening and only ate one?

First, I poked a circle of white wedding tulle inside each box and filled them with rich coffee beans. Scott and I are totally addicted to coffee and chocolate. In fact, when there is no chocolate in the house, we have to make a chocolate run. Scott's the one who's addicted. (Not me;-) We could hardly sleep the night I made these, the house was so full of the aroma of fresh roasted coffee. Anyway, we thought it would be fun to share our addiction with our party guests. So, they get to go home and grind some beans, put on a pot of java, scarf down some dark chocolate and think of us.

I'm going to have a hard time keeping up my blog while we're gone since my Mom & Dad have dial up. But, I'm going to try to keep putting up more projects and of course the party pics, so keep checking back!

Coootie or Cutie Catchers

I ran across these darling party favors at Cox & Cox, and thought how cute! We made "cootie catchers" when we were in gradeschool, but these are toooo cute. And how easy to make with all the great papers we have available, too. These would be fun for any party, and you could make them ahead to place at each plate, filled with goodies. Luuuuv it.

Tassels for Everyone!

You know I LOVE making tassels, and these characters are too cute. I made these to show this coming Monday on Channel Six for the morning show. I used the Jolee's stickers for the tassel tops, and cut a piece of felt to match for the back. Now they are ready for packages, bookmarks, party favors, or I can even make them into Christmas ornaments. I think that I need to make a cheerleader or a graduate next.

Surprise Birthday Crafts

Happy Birthday Chad!
I surprised my nephew during the Pattiewack-n-Crafts segment this morning on CBS Tulsa's Six In The Morning Show. Chad works as a Master Control operator, and he was shocked when he saw his head sticking out of a bouquet of flowers.

The crew at Channel Six looks pretty good
behind their Chad masks!

There were gift bags with Chad face cut-outs, and little Chad faces poked into twinkies, hohos and cupcakes.

The prep for these party favors is suprisingly minimal, considering how much mileage you get from one single image. I found a funny photo of Chad on his myspace page and enlarged it in PhotoShop to an 8 x 10 to print from my computer. For the cupcake pokes, I printed out smaller images and after I cut them out, I taped them to long plastic picks.

For the banner, I cut out the faces and used spray adhesive to adhere them to colored paper, then taped yarn along the backs of the page to string across the set.

LeAnne Taylor is peeking from behind a Chad mask, and what a blast! They are so easy to make. Simply use spray adhesive to adhere the photos to cardstock, cut out, and then tape a large tongue depressor to the back. Don't forget to punch out holes in the eyes to see through. I used a pencil to make the holes.
