Washcloth House Slippers

Today on CBS in Tulsa on the Six in the Morning show, I did the fun, fluffy, ruffled washcloth house slippers. These are the most comfy things to wear and fabulous to give! Every time I make these, people go nuts! My mom and I used to make these years ago when my Daddy was a pastor in Ada, Oklahoma. We made them for the seniors at the nursing homes, and those folks were so appreciative. My parents really taught me that it is more blessed to give than to receive. I have to tell you that I was so excited when I spied these washcloths at Target, because they already had the rick rack sewn around the edges. It just really adds to the cute factor, I think! You know, I'm thinking maybe I need to make these for all the girls in my family for Christmas morning......

Pattiewack Christmas Crafts Countdown

The "Pattiewack Christmas Crafts Countdown" kicked off today
in Tulsa on the Six in the Morning Show at CBS, on Channel Six.

My idea was to make something quick and fun to display your Christmas cards, and this is reeeeallly quick. I found these cute rhinestone studded mugs at the 99 cents store, can you believe it? But you know, we all have a Christmas mug or 2 stuck behind dishes in our kitchen cabinet, and this is a great way to use them. Hey, you know this would also be fabulous for Father's Day, birthdays, or any occasion. Oh, how about fancy teacups? Oooooh, just one single wire in a cute little teacup would be DArling!

Here's the tutorial to make your own:

Christmas Card Holder

Supplies:
Coffee Mug
16 Gauge Floral Wire, 18” long
Needle Nose Wire Pliers
Plaster of Paris
Disposable Plastic Bowl
Stir Stick
Water
Tape

Instructions:
1. To measure, pour water into coffee mug, 3/4 full.

2. Pour the water into a disposable plastic bowl. Stir plaster into the bowl a little at a time, until it is thick like a milk shake. Set aside.

3. Bend 5 wires into coils with needle nose pliers. Bend a crook into the other ends of the wires.

4. Place the crooked ends of all 5 wires into the center of the plaster. Tape into place until the plaster has completely set.

5. Discard the tape and spread out the wires to complete.

Thanksgiving Centerpieces

Are you looking for a really fun and inexpensive idea for decorating for that special day Thursday? Well, I've got it right here. This Thanksgiving centerpiece is way wacky, but it makes a great impression. Here I am at Channel Six on the CBS morning show, getting ready to do my demo.

















All you need are clay pots, spray paint, felt & gold paper, and a hot glue gun. The Pilgrim Pots instructions are on my website for you to print out. I made a big pot for my mum centerpiece, then the little pots hold candles and candies dressed up in polka dot tulle. Preeety, and preeeety easy.

Monster Umbrellas

These crazy cool umbrellas are great for Mommy or Daddy to carry on a trick-or-treat outing with the kids. Or, have a crafting party for the whole family by cutting out different shapes and letting the kids create their own scary or fun faces to glue onto their Monster Umbrellas! When I did them on Channel 6, they were great on the set, and we decided that they would also make great party decorations. Pattiewack-n-Crafts Hiatus

If you were watching KOTV, Six In the Morning, in Tulsa today, I'm sure you noticed that I wasn't there. Yes, I am on hiatus for a couple of months to work on my "secret" project this summer. BUT, I will be there next Monday, LIVE for Pattiewack-n-Crafts, for the 8:30 time slot and you better believe I will have some fun and crafty projects to share with you. I plan to show off my new book, and hang out with Casey Norton and LeAnne Taylor there at the CBS news station. I can't wait!

Reconstructed Fashion

I had a blast doing this t-shirt and bag for Channel Six this Monday morning. I found the t-shirt at the local thrift store, and the bag, too! The bag has hidden pockets and cell phone holder inside, which makes it perfect, and fun to carry. The iron-ons are so easy, that this little project only took about 30 minutes from start to finish. There are SO many iron-ons in the store now, that it is hard to decide which ones to use.
