Barbie Crafts - Mannequin Mummy - Halloween Fondue Party

Happy Halloween to all you ghouls and guys! I hope you’re busy making plans for a frightfully fun evening with your friends and families this weekend.

I thought you might like to see some frightfully fun ideas I used for a fondue party, make Barbie doll mummies, AND turn my mannequin into a mummy for a terrorific party.

 

I have a bouquet of Barbies in my home studio. I just KNEW they would come in handy for something, and yes! I wound bathroom tissue around them and turned them into Mini-Mummies! A little tacky glue holds them together.

It didn't take very long to wrap the Barbies, and they turned out so cute! That's a plaster cast of Scott's hand holding onto one of the mini-mummies. I made it years ago, and I use it for a candle holder.

I have a collection of body parts. Don't ask why, it might be the artist in me. I just love them. That's my hand with the finger pointing up. I use it for a bracelet holder.

 

I also have a paper mache mannequin that I keep turning into different pieces of art.  It was perfect for turning into a conversation stimulator at parties and gatherings at our house. 

The eyeball looking out the window, looks pretty creepy, peeking out of the mummy wrappings.

Here's how I made my mannequin mummy:

First, I wrapped up my mannequin with toilet paper and lace.  (yes, really!)  I had a ton of vintage lace from my mom, and wrapped it around the mummy to add a little texture. I promise you, that no vintage lace was harmed in the making, as I didn’t even cut it! That way I can take it off and use it on a sewing project.I think that some of the lace is probably 50 years old.

I used two rolls of tissue, and a bunch of tape on the big mannequin mummy. I love how it turned out, and it was toooo easy! Our guests loved it, and I don’t think I’ll want to take it down after Halloween, especially after spending all that time to make. But, it was worth it.

We love fondue, too. I make two pots, one with cheese and one with chocolate. I always ask the girls to bring fruits and veggies. And I always ask the boys to bring wine and beer. Yummers.

The fondue recipes I love to share are below. I went online to get recipes, and then changed them up a bit to fit what we like to eat. You can do the same thing. We don't eat much meat, but I found these amazing sausages made with chicken and sun dried tomatoes. You can use whatever cheese you love in the cheese fondue, and whatever liqueur that you prefer in the chocolate, like amaretto or rum. I hope you enjoy yourself and be safe, and have fun planning your party.

Killer Cheese Fondue

From the kitchen of: Pattie Donham-Wilkinson

2 - 8 oz. Pkgs. Cream Cheese, cut up in chunks

1 – Round of Brie Cheese, cut up in chunks

1 – Block of Gruyere Cheese, shredded

1 – Dark Lager Beer

Place cheeses in a large bowl, and pour the beer over the cheese, stirring it in. Melt slowly in the microwave, stirring frequently with a wooden spoon until melted. Pour into a fondue pot, and light the flame underneath to keep warm.

Serve with:

Sour dough bread chunks

Blanched broccoli

Sausage bites (pre-cooked)

Deglet Noor pitted dates

Honey crisp apples (our favorites)

Oh, and open a can of those crunchy fried onions to dip into, after you dip into the cheese, and prepare for your eyes to roll back in your head!

Death By Chocolate Fondue

From the kitchen of: Pattie Donham-Wilkinson

1 – 11oz. Pkg. Ghirardelli semi-sweet chocolate bits

1 – 11oz. Pkg. Ghirardelli milk chocolate bits

1/2 Pint Whipping cream

1/2 Cup Kahlua liqueur

Place chocolate bits in a large bowl, and pour the cream and liqueur over the chocolate, stirring it in. Melt slowly in the microwave, stirring frequently with a wooden spoon until melted. Pour into a fondue pot, and light the flame underneath to keep warm.

Serve with:

Marshmallows

Crushed graham crackers

Strawberries

Chunks of Fresh Pineapple

Apple chunks

Shredded coconut

31 Days of DIY Halloween - Halloween Yard Art

Who doesn’t love a little yard art? These are perfect to point the way to the party and they are super easy to make. Just poke them anywhere, like down the driveway, or in potted plants. And if you store them flat, you can use them year after year.

Materials
– Aleene’s® Crystal Clear Tacky Spray™
– Pencil
– Scissors: straight edge and wavy edge
– Newspaper or large plastic
– Easy release tape
– Cardstock: 12” squares 3 orange, 3 lime, 5 black, 1 Violet
– Paper
– Balsa, 3 strips 3/16”
– Patterns (click here for patterns)

Instructions:1. Enlarge patterns to fill most of a 12” square of cardstock. Cut shapes out and tape to appropriate cardstock. Bat, pumpkin mouth, stem and eyes and circles on black. Use orange for pumpkin and lime for Boo letters. Cut shapes out.

2. To protect work area, place newspaper or plastic on a level surface and use this area for all spraying of glue.

3. Lay letters BOO and black circles on newspaper and spray back with Tacky Spray. Quickly pick up pieces and place on orange cardstock. Refer to photo for placement. Trim edge of orange cardstock with wavy edge scissors. Spray back and place on full sheet of lime cardstock.

4. Repeat spray instructions with eyes, mouth and stem on pumpkin. Attach this unit to violet cardstock. Trim edge with wavy scissors and attach this unit to full sheet of orange cardstock.

5. Spray back of bat and attach to lime and trim edge with wavy scissors and attach to black cardstock.

6. Working quickly, spray back of a piece of black, lay on a clean work surface and lay one balsa stick in center about 3” down from the top of cardstock. Spray back of one layered design units with wavy edge and place on top of stick, centered on black cardstock. Firmly press papers together with hands.

7. Repeat with other two designs.

31 Days of DIY Halloween - Little Ladybug Costume

This is absolutely darling, and believe it or not, it’s just t-shirts!! A couple snips, a few quick stitches and you can make your little lady the cutest little bug on Halloween night!

Little Ladybug Costume

Materials:
– Tulip® Glam-It-Up!™ Fashion Art Tweezers™
– Tulip® Cordless Heat Setting Tool™
– Tulip® Glam-It-Up!™ Iron-On Crystals™

– 1 T-shirt, black
– 2 Pom Poms, 2” black
– 2 sheets Felt, stiff black
– Scissors
– 1 Headband, black
– Straight pins
– Tailor’s chalk
– Sewing machine /matching thread
– 1 T-shirt, red
– 2 Pipe cleaners, black
– pattern (click here for pattern)

Instructions:
1. Cut sleeves off red shirt, using scissors.
2. Place plate on black T-shirt. Trace six circles with tailor’s chalk. Cut out and pin circles on red shirt.
3. Thread sewing machine with black thread. Sew on all circles.
4. Place wing pattern on stiff felt. Trace around with chalk. Cut out two.
5. Flip red shirt to back. Place wings in center top of shirt. Refer to photo. Pin in place.
6. Sew only center edge of wings on shirt. Refer to photo.
7. Place red Crystals around inner edge of each circle, using Tweezers.
8. Heat Heat-Setting Tool following package instructions. Gently place tip of Tool on top of Crystal. Hold for about 5 to 6 seconds. Repeat for all Crystals.
9. Outline wings with clear Crystals. Refer to photo.
10. Tip: If you have some black t-shirt leftover, make long armbands.
11. Twist one end of a pipe cleaner around a pom pom. Repeat with other pom pom and pipe cleaner. Wrap other end of pipe cleaner around headband.

31 Days of DIY Halloween - Paper Pumpkins

You know, sometime simple is good, and these are SO simple and fun to make. Put the supplies for this cute craft in a box and save it for an after school project for the kids when it’s too wet or cold outside. And if you make a ton of them, they would be terrific to scatter down the middle of a party table, or to take to the office to sneak onto your co-workers’ desks for a nice surprise!

Paper Pumpkins
Materials List:– Aleene’s® Crystal Clear Tacky Spray™
– Scissors
– 12” square paper, 4 orange
– Permanent marker, green
– Personal paper cutter
– 12” square paper, green
– Pencil
– Hole punch, large
– 12” square paper, brown
– Pipe cleaners, 9 green
– Patterns (click here for pattern)

Instructions:1. Cut orange paper into 1-1/2” wide strips, using paper cutter.
2. Arrange seven strips in an asterisk shape with ends slightly overlapping in center, making sure they are even width apart. 3. Apply Tacky Spray on one end at time and press together. Let dry.
3. Pull up other ends to middle. Apply Tacky Spray on ends and place together. Let dry.
4. Trace leaf pattern on green paper. Cut out with scissors.
5. Use green marker to draw veins.
6. Punch a hole at center bottom of leaf. Place a pipe cleaner through hole and twist end around pipe cleaner.
7. Curl end of pipe cleaner around pencil. Remove pencil, leaving a curly-q. Repeat with other pipe cleaners, using three per pumpkin.
8. Cut a 1” wide strip of brown paper and roll on pencil. Apply Tacky Spray on end of roll to adhere.
9. Spray one end with glue and press on top of pumpkin. Refer to photo.
10. Wrap pipe cleaners and leaf around stem. Repeat all steps to make other pumpkins.

31 Days of DIY Halloween - Spider Paper Lantern

I’m crazy for this creepy crawly paper lantern. And how easy! All it is, is black paper bugs glued to the paper lantern. The perfect last-minute addition to your front porch light on Halloween night, or to slip over all the lamps in the house for a fabulously fast way to decorate in a creepy sort of way.

Materials:
– Collage Pauge® Instant Decoupage
– Lantern, paper
– Color copier
– Cutting mat
– Foil
– Paintbrush at least ½” wide
– Craft knife

Instructions:1. Copy desired number and size of spiders.
2. Cut out each spider on cutting mat, using craft knife.
3. Squeeze out a puddle of Collage Pauge onto a piece of foil. Dip brush in glue and apply on lantern where image will be placed. Immediately, place a spider into glue. Brush Collage Pauge on top of spider.
4. Repeat for all spiders.

31 Days of DIY Halloween - Going Batty Tote

I just think the bat wings on this bag are SO clever! And Cheryl Ball did her magic with 3-D paints to add the spots, face, BOO! You know, if you add 3-D paint that glows in the dark, it will be perfect for a dusky treat-or-treat trek.

Materials:
– Aleene's® Fabric Fusion® Permanent Dry Cleanable Fabric Adhesive

– Tulip® 3D Fashion Paint™ Value Packs and Sets
10 pack Glo

– Scissors
– Tape
– Cardboard to fit inside shirt
– Black stiff felt
– White chalk – sharpened to a point
– Paper towels
– Black tote bag
– Sewing pin
– Patterns (click here for pattern)

Instructions:
1. Insert cardboard into tote.
2. Cut out wing pattern, place on black felt, lightly trace around with chalk, tracing two, then cut out.
3. Start flow of paint on paper towel using an even pressure on bottle for a smooth line. Place wings on work surface, making sure they are mirror image. Outline each wing with Gray Glow Paint. Let dry.
4. Loosely cut apart face, legs and word from pattern sheet. Flip over patterns then tape to window; this will allow you to see design through paper. Use chalk to lightly trace along design lines. Position “BOO”, chalk side down on tote where shown then press in place. Hold with hand so it won’t shift then run a finger over lines to transfer pattern to fabric. Remove pattern. Position face and feet in place then transfer designs.
5. Fill in areas with a thick application of Glow Paint – the paint will flatten as it dries. Add different size dots to sides of bag as shown. Use pin to pop any bubble that may form. Let dry.
6. Add Fast Grab Glue to back of wings in about 1” from each side then press in place. Let dry.

31 Days of DIY Halloween - Freaky Fun "BOO" Pillows

Cheryl Ball made these fun felt pillows and then painted them with Tulip® 3D Fashion Paint that really and truly glows in the dark! I want to sneak them to my house and put them on my black tweed couch for a quick Halloween makover. Do you think she’ll miss them?

Materials List:
– Tulip® 3D Fashion Paint™ Value Packs and Sets
Neon Glow
– Tulip® 3D Fashion Paint™
65177 Green Glow
– Felt yardage – ½ yard each – black, white, orange
– Paper towels
– Polyfill
– Sewing machine with matching thread
– Pinking shears
– Sewing needle
– Scissors
– White chalk sharpened to a sharp point
– Sewing pins
– Patterns (click here)

Instructions:
1. Enlarge pattern to about 16” tall – or desired size – then cut out.

2. Pin patterns onto double layers of felt. Sew right next to pattern. Remove pattern then use pinking shears to trim seams to about ½”.

3. Shake bottles of 3D Fashion Paint. Start flow of paint on paper towel using an even pressure on bottle for a smooth line.

4. Letter “B”: Use white chalk to draw about 1½” tall candy corn triangles onto front. Use Natural Glow to outline each triangle and fill in top third. Fill in second third with Neon Orange and remainder with Neon Yellow. Let dry then add a Natural Glow line between Yellow and Orange. Let dry.

5. Eyeball O: Squeeze a line of Neon Blue about 1” wide around center as shown then fill in. Add a ring of Neon Green around Blue. Use Neon Pink to create veins as shown, starting at center and working toward edge. Let dry then use Natural Glow to outline each ring and next to each vein. Let dry.

6. Spider Web O: Use white chalk to draw lines for web starting at center and moving toward edge. Draw on spider body, head and legs as shown. Fill in body and head with Neon Blue, legs with Neon Pink, and eyes and marking on back with Neon Yellow.

7. Use Green Glow for web, adding long lines first then filling in with curved lines between. Let dry. Use Natural Glow to outline entire spider and details then along each line of web. Let dry.

8. Carefully cut an opening on back of pillow. Fill each pillow with Polyfill, pin opening closed then use needle and thread to sew.

31 Days of DIY Halloween - Doodle Pumpkin

I know! I forgot to post a project yesterday (Friday) for my 31 Days of DIY Halloween. It was a busy, busy day at the iLoveToCreate design studio and I completely lost track of time.

But I think this little pumpkin will make up for it!

Turn an ordinary decorative pumpkin into a Funkin with Scribbles® Dimensional Fabric Paint™! Doodle your favorite designs all over your pumpkin for fun effects. Get the kids involved and see how creative they get with their doodles!

Materials:
–Scribbles® Dimensional Fabric Paint Value 20 Pack
– Pumpkin
– Small paintbrush
– Foil
– Paper towels
– White chalk

Instructions:
1. Use white chalk to draw basic shapes onto pumpkin.
2. Start flow of Scribbles® paint on paper towel using an even pressure on bottle for smooth line. Keep tip of bottle clean by wiping with paper towels.
3. Fill in basic shapes with all colors of dimensional paint. Refer to photo. Let dry.
4. Add second layers of design and detail as shown then add dots and finer detail. Let dry.
5. Squeeze a puddle of Green paint on foil. Use a small brush to paint onto stem. Let dry then repeat step.

31 Days of DIY Halloween – Love Hurts Vampire T-shirt

This is my all-time favorite Halloween shirt! Cheryl Ball made it after we brainstormed how to use the technique where you paint one half of the design and then fold the shirt in half. When you unfold it you’ll see PERFECT LIPS! It really IS fabulous and fun to do, and you’ll make all the other girls jealous at the party when you show up in this glittery shirt. Love hurts.

Materials
– Tulip® 3D Fashion Paint™
Deep Red Slick
White Slick
– Tulip® Fashion Glitter™
Red Fine Jewel
Silver Fine Jewel
– Black t-shirt
– Pink chalk sharpened to point
– Scissors
– Iron
– Freezer paper
– Stiff brush
– Paper towels
– Scratch paper

Instructions:
For best results, please read all instructions before beginning project. Refer to photo for color and design placement.

1. Wash shirt without softener to remove sizing. Dry in dryer then iron smooth.
2. Cut a piece of freezer paper to fit inside shirt then insert to shirt. Fold shirt in half lengthwise pressing fingers along fold for stiff crease then open shirt.
3. Cut out lip design from pattern sheet. Line up edge along fold on shirt then use chalk to lightly trace around pattern. Remove pattern.
4. Start Flow of Deep Red 3D paint on paper towel using an even pressure on bottle for a smooth line. Starting at upper lip next to fold, squeeze a continuous line of paint within area in a back and forth motion squeezing up and down following the couture of lips. To create ink blot effect, immediately fold shirt over along fold line lining up sides of shirt. Use fingertips to press over paint making sure to work right up and over fold. Open shirt to reveal design.
5. Immediately sprinkle Red Glitter over wet paint. Wait a few minutes, and then carefully pounce off excess glitter onto scratch paper. This glitter can be put back in bottle and re-used.
6. Use chalk to lightly draw teeth where shown then fill in with White Slick.
7. Use White Slick to add drops from lips if desired then sprinkle with Silver Glitter. Let paint thoroughly dry – thicker paint may take a little longer.
8. Pounce excess glitter onto scratch paper then lightly brush with hand to remove excess.
9. Wait 72 hours to wash. Machine wash warm on gentle cycle. Do not use harsh detergents or bleach. Remove promptly and line dry. To iron, turn garment inside out, being careful not to touch design with iron. Do not dry-clean.

31 Days of DIY Halloween - Creepy Cobweb Umbrella

When I designed this spooky umbrella with Tulip® Soft Fabric Paint™, I thought it would be fun for mommy or daddy to hold when walking the kids around the block. The kids will know exactly where you are! Oh, and wouldn't it be fun to hang several from the ceiling to decorate your Halloween party?

Materials List:
– Tulip® Glam-It Up!™ PDA: Personal Dazzle Assistance™
26641 Clear

– Tulip® Soft Fabric Paint™
BI15790 Crimson Red
BI15793 Grape
BI15797 Lime

– Paintbrushes – Liner, Round
– Umbrella – black
– White chalk pencil
– Small round sponge
– Water dish
– Foil
–Pattern (click here for pattern)

Instructions:
1. Set umbrella in “open” position. Referring to photo as a guide, use chalk pencil to lightly sketch cobweb lines all around umbrella.

2. Print out spider pattern and flip over to backside. Trace design with chalk pencil then flip back over and place chalk side down onto umbrella. Run hands over paper to transfer spider design in chalk onto umbrella.

3. Squeeze puddles of each color of Soft Fabric Paint onto a piece of foil. Using Liner brush, paint Lime over cobweb design. Note: two coats may be needed for optimum brightness. Let dry between coats.

4. Using the Round brush, apply two coats of Grape to spider. Let dry between coats.

5. Sketch hourglass shape onto spider with chalk pencil, then apply two coats of Crimson Red to hourglass and “button” at top of umbrella, letting dry between coats.

6. Allow all paint to thoroughly dry, then wipe away any remaining chalk with damp sponge.

7. Peel crystals from backing and stick onto eyes of spider and all cross-sections of cobweb.

31 Days of DIY Halloween - Mummy Mania

The kids will love these funny water bottles I created for Halloween. You can make these perfect Halloween party favors in no time at all with a little help from Aleene’s®.

Materials list:
– Aleene’s® Crystal Clear Tacky Spray™
– Aleene's® Original Tacky Glue®
– Gauze bandage
– Scissors
– Plastic “googly eye” appliqués
– White plastic water bottle

Instructions:1. Use Aleene’s® Original Tacky Glue® to adhere googly eyes to neck of bottle as shown in photo. Let dry.
2. Cut three strips of gauze that are approximately two feet in length.
3. Spray strips with Aleene’s® Crystal Clear Tacky Spray™, then wrap around entire bottle (sticky side down), making sure not to cover eyes. Refer to photo.

Instructions:
1. Wipe ware with damp sponge to remove any dust.
2. Place graphite paper around mug with pattern over it. Trace over lines with pencil.
3. Pour puddle of Really White on foil. Using No. 6 Round brush, apply 3 coats of Really White on skeleton hand. Let dry after each coat.
4. Pour a good amount of Dark Black on foil. Using Fan Glaze brush, apply 3 coats of Dark Black inside cup. Let dry between coats.
5. Using No. 4 Liner brush, apply Dark Black between fingers and joints.
6. Using Fan Glaze brush, apply 3 coats of Dark Black to fill in remainder of mug. Let dry after each each.
7. Stilt and fire to cone 06.

31 Days of DIY Halloween - Terrifyingly Terrific Towels

I totally want these in my bathroom and I'm hoping my guests will scream with delight over these Halloween towels! Turn ordinary towels into freakishly fun room accents with ribbon, felt and a little pizzazz from Tulip® 3D Fashion Paint™ and Tulip® Glam-It-Up!™ Iron-On Crystals™.

Terrifyingly Terrific Towels

Materials List:

– Aleene's® Fabric Fusion® Permanent Dry Cleanable Fabric Adhesive
– Tulip® 3D Fashion Paint™ in 65038 Black
– Tulip® Glam-It-Up!™ Iron-On Crystals™ in 23123 300 Clear Pack
– Felt – colors to match towels
– Sewing machine with black thread
– Satin ribbon – black – 1½” wide – 1 yard per towel
– Pinking shears
– Paper towels
– Toothpicks
– Tulle – black – ½ yard
– Foil
– White chalk sharpened to a point
– Crayon
– Towels – desired Halloween colors
– Sewing pins
– Ruler
– Scissors

Instructions:
1. Cut a 6” wide length from tulle. Double over, creating several layers and holding with pins as needed. Use machine to sew two rows of gather stitches down center. Gather up fabric to fit across one end of towel then pin in place on towel to secure.

2. Center ribbon right side up over gather stitches on tulle then sew through all layers down both sides of ribbon.
Measure and cut a 2½” x 2¾” piece from each color of felt using pinking shears to cut out. Use chalk to draw desired letter in center of felt as shown. Start flow of Black Slick paint on paper towel using an even pressure on bottle for a smooth line. Fill in each letter with a thick, even line of paint. Let dry.

3. Squeeze a thin bead of Fabric Fusion onto back edge of felt piece, smooth with fingers then press into a different color of felt as shown. Let dry then use pinking shears to trim excess felt, leaving a ¼” or so border showing.

4. Apply glue to back of felt piece, center over ribbon and center of towel then press in place. Repeat step with remaining towels. Let dry.

5. Squeeze a small puddle of Fabric Fusion onto foil. Working in sections at a time, use toothpick to add a small dot of glue for each crystal. Touch top of crystal with tip of crayon and position into glue – it will hold it just long enough to transfer crystal in place on glue. Repeat along length of ribbon on each towel as shown. Let dry.

31 Days of DIY Halloween - Wickedly Charming Pillow

I went absolutely mad for this wickedly charming pillow, perfect for spookifying your home this Halloween! Team up Aleene’s® Fabric Fusion™ and Tulip® Glam-It-Up!™ Iron-On Studs™ with ribbon, felt and tulle to make a pillow that’ll have your family screaming with delight!

Wickedly Charming Pillow

Materials List:
– Aleene's® Fabric Fusion® Permanent Dry Cleanable Fabric Adhesive
– Tulip® Glam-It-Up!™ Iron-On Studs™
– Tulip® 3D Fashion Paint™ in 65038 Black
– Tulip® Cordless Heat Setting Tool™
– Ribbon – 1½ yards (or enough to tie around pillow and tie bow) – 1” wide – lime
– Ruler
– Pinking shears
– Sewing pins
– White felt – 1 sheet
– Black pillow
– Fabric – 4” strip by circumference of pillow – lime
– Sewing machine with matching thread
– Paper towels
– Scissors
– Tulle – ¼ yard – orange
– Crayon
– Pencil

Instructions:
1. Find center of ribbon and place on right side of pillow then pull ends to other side and tie a bow. Place a pin just before bow on each side to mark for wording. Untie and remove ribbon, carefully keeping pins in place.

2.Fold tulle over lengthwise, creating several layers. Sew two lines of gather stitches down center through all layers. Gather tulle to fit ribbon between pins, pinning in place to secure. Sew down both sides of ribbon then remove gather stitches.

3. Use pinking shears to cut lime fabric into strip wide enough to show 1” of tulle extending from top and bottom edges and long enough to reach ends of gathered tulle and fit between pins on ribbon. Apply a thin bead of Fabric Fusion along both edges on backside of fabric piece and one down center. Press in place over tulle piece as shown. Let dry.

4. Trim tulle to desired width then tie ribbon piece around pillow.

5. Measure and cut six squares in desired size from white felt, using size of pillow to determine proportional size of squares.
Squares will need to fit on ribbon across front of pillow as shown.

6. Working on one square at a time, use crayon to position Iron-On Studs into a letter to spell out “WICKED”. The wax on the crayon will hold stud just long enough to transfer to felt square. Turn on Cordless Heat-Setting Tool following package instructions. Touch tip of hot tool to top of stud and hold for two seconds. Remove heat tool and let stud cool, then touch stud with fingernail making sure it has adhered, if not add one or two more seconds. Add one letter from one color to each square.

7. Apply a thin bead of Fabric Fusion around back edge of felt square, smooth with finger and then press in place. Start with “W” then equally space remainder of letters across ribbon as shown. Let dry.

8. Start flow of Black Slick paint on paper towel using even pressure on bottle for a smooth line. Add faux stitching lines as shown. Keep tip of bottle wiped often for clean lines. Add all stitching and let dry.

9. The ribbon can be removed after the holiday.

Wild Child Pumpkin

Materials List:
– Tulip® Fashion Glitter™ in 23560 Black Fine Jewel
– Tulip® 3D Fashion Paint™ in 65038 Black
– Tulip® Glam-It Up!™ PDA: Personal Dazzle Assistance™ in 26637 Clear Red Black
– Collage Pauge® Instant Decoupage
– Aleene's® Fast Grab™ Tacky Glue
– Paper towels
– Pinking shears
– 1” foam brush
– Pumpkin
– Foil
– Scissors
– Tulle – 4” x 18” wide strip
– Scratch paper
– Small paintbrush
– Fabric – ¼ yard – bright pink – or desired color

Instructions:
1. Use scissors to cut fabric into about 1” squares.

2. Squeeze a puddle of Collage Pauge onto foil. Working in small sections at a time, use dry foam brush to apply an even coat to surface of pumpkin. Tap foam brush onto a piece of fabric then place into adhesive, then brush on another coat. Add another piece of fabric slightly overlapping the first then apply more over top. Repeat step until entire pumpkin is covered. Let dry.

3. Start flow of Black 3D Fashion Paint on paper towel using an even pressure on bottle for a smooth line. Place scratch paper on work surface. Working in sections at a time, paint on zebra stripes as shown. Immediately pour black glitter over wet paint then pour off excess onto scratch paper. Repeat step, letting paint dry if needed before moving to new section. When thoroughly dry, use small paintbrush to brush off excess glitter.

4. Squeeze a small puddle of Black 3D Fashion Paint onto foil then use small brush to paint stem of pumpkin. Let dry.

5. Peel skeleton design from plastic backing sheet then press onto a piece of pink fabric. Use pinking shears to trim into square as shown.

6. Peel off single clear crystal from backing sheet then press into place throughout design. Add black crystals to stem.

7. Use Fast Grab to glue fabric square to front of pumpkin as shown.

8. Tie a bow of tulle around stem.

These crazy cool umbrellas are great for Mommy or Daddy to carry on a trick-or-treat outing with the kids. Or, have a crafting party for the whole family by cutting out different shapes and letting the kids create their own scary or fun faces to glue onto their Monster Umbrellas! When I did them on Channel 6, they were great on the set, and we decided that they would also make great party decorations.
